Master of Data Science Okanagan Teng Li

“I chose MDS Okanagan because of its strong computer science and statistics-oriented curriculum. Rather than just teaching how to use tools, the program dives into foundational topics like optimization and statistical theory, which really helps set me apart as a data scientist.”

Previous Degree/Institution: Master of Science in Computer Science at The George Washington University
Program: MDS Okanagan Class of 2025

The MDS curriculum covered the full spectrum of data science concepts—from data collection and data wrangling to analysis and visualization. We also had courses in machine learning, deep learning, and optimization, giving us both practical skills and a strong theoretical foundation. The program is definitely intensive. It’s a 10-month accelerated program with four courses each month, eight class per week, and a heavy load of assignments and labs. Beyond the technical training, the program also offers great workshops and valuable connections with alumni, which are an incredible resource. Many alumni even return as mentors to support current students, which adds a lot of value to the overall experience.
